Puno: At an attitude of 3830m, Puno is the capital of Peru's Altiplano - the harsh highland region.
At Puno bus stop, there was a lady from the travel agency greeted me and guided me to book hostel and joined the tour excursion around Lake Titicaca.
Though I could not talk to the hostel people in native tongue, I could still communicate using body language and simple Spanish, asked them to prepare breakfast for me. I climbed up to the rooftop of the hostel to see the town under sunbeam.
Lake Titicaca is the world's highest navigable lake (3812 meters) and home to the floating Uros Islands. More than 25 rivers empty into it, and according to Inca legend it was the birthplace of the Sun god who founded the Inca dynasty. On Isla Taquile and other islands here Quechua-speaking people preserve the traditions of their ancestors.

However, there was no people to pick me up. As such, I took a motor ride to the pier and asked somebody to phone up the agency.Picturesque view of Titicaca
