I was going to take the 11:00 Linea Dorada bus and it's supposed the pickup would arrive at ~10:45, though I got all ready by 10:25 and stayed at my room. Out of a sudden, a phone call from the front desk told that the pickup was there at the lobby for me. I then dashed down to meet him, the tour shop guy. Well, his service was reliable, though charging high.
A sunny day with all greens along my way to Rio Dulce
It took almost 4 hours to reach Rio Dulce. People there were very helpful. Upon my request, the ticket office at Municipal Dock helped call up the hotel for picking me up.
Most people stay at the eastern edge of Lake Izabal, near the massive concrete bridge, at the town of Rio Dulce. The US Coast Guard says this is the safest place on the western Caribbean for boats during hurricane season.
The dock is under the bridge, many lanchas (small motorboats) parked here.
Tortugal Hotel & Marina
One of the best looking bungalows on the river, a 5-min lancha ride east from town.

Restaurant at the front
Back side of the restaurant and the working area
Hut for guests, my room at the lower left
Interior of my room, simple but comfortable
Outside my room there is a large sitting area and a jacuzzi pool (but dried)
There are also kayaks for guest use for free. However, I dared not to go by myself
There were many yachts parking here as there was a hurricane approaching Honduras
It turned cloudy in the evening
Peaceful river docks with many river birds
Relax at the restaurant
Lightening at the far side and it got windy
Tacos with rice for dinner
Walk around in the refreshing morning, after heavy rain at night
There are mango trees around
My breakfast with free coffee - Chapín: fried eggs, plantains, bean paste and cream with pancakes and salsa ranchera
A leisure walk at the back of the villa to the town Fronteras (Rio Dulce)
Lizard (with camouflage) for sun bathing
Beautiful farm
