Mountain Pine Ridge 1.6.2017

At Georgeville, 16km west of Belmopan on the Western Highway, a road runs south toward the hilly region known as Mountain Pine Ridge.

There are many luxurious mountain pine ridge lodges built in this forest reserve.

Big Rock Falls

We also went for a side trip to the pool for a dip at the falls.

The small but powerful Big Rock Falls on Privassion Creek, are for many, more impressive than the Thousand Foot Falls - not least because you can get up close and swim in the pools below.  It's near to the Blancaneaux Lodge.  Thanks Bryan for the drive.

The Big Rock Falls are a tributary of the Macal River, where clear waters cascade over smooth-as-glass boulders and granite slabs, creating water slides and chutes.

We went to the Mickey's Snack Shop for early dinner.  The boss Victor is very friendly and offered tasty Mexican food and fresh fruit juices for us.  I tried the juice recommended by Bryan, papaya juice and burritos while they ordered tacos (as pictured)
