南美漫遊: On the move to America 27.5.2017

Before departure

It came to a coincidence that my nephew was 1-month after birth that day and there would be a celebration dinner with our close relatives. What a pity that I was away and could not join the dinner. That's why I squeezed the time to visit the lovely baby boy before going to the airport.

My pa felt uncomfortable so I brought him to consultation early in the morning. (He was sent to the hospital later the same day after my departure. I was kept informed of his condition by my brother and sister. Hope that he could get well soon.)

I attended church service then, said goodbye and taught the elderly about the Israeli journey in the desert after the Exodus, and visited Mrs Tin who was very sick. (She passed away the next day.)

Flight to America

27-May 18:10 - 16:30 AA192 HKG --> LAX [13.20 hr]

21:45 - 05:44 (+1) AA2471 LAX --> MIA [5 hr]

28-May 10:35 - 10:54 AA2476 MIA --> BZE [2.19 hr]

Long Flight and Transfer

I arrived at HK airport at 16:00. There were still sometime after check-in. It's good to wander around the tax-free shops and to try some test-on samples for hand cream and facial moisturizer (I had put all my toilette stuff in the checked-in baggage as there would be another luggage check at gate.)

On the flight to LA, I watched a few movies: Manchester by the Sea, Hidden Figures, Whiplash, Silence (could not finish), good use of my "air time".

However, not a very good experience to land at LA with form filling and 5 inspection stops! (It's my first time to use the document scanner kiosk before approaching the immigration officer.) Body search after a 360° scan, even my money belt and shoes should be taken off. There was insufficient directions for transit passengers. Looking out from the glass wall, lots of old buses running on highway to the city.

Very sleepy after long ride, I got to the gate direct for some rest.
